So sorry to hear of Pat's passing. We know he will be missed, as is Bea. It was always fun to bump in to him and talk with him. He always had time to chat. He was a very kind and considerate man..

Pat was a good fiend, someone you could confide in knowing he respected your relationship.. he was most helpful to us as we worked to acquire the property to construct the US Bank building. He had the interests of the entire city as he helped us negotiate the legal and public relations issues necessary to accomplish our goal. A true statesman, Pat will be missed
From Stanton Jorgens

My prayers and sympathy to the family. Thank you Mayor Zielke for your service and kindness to our City of La Crosse.

So very sorry about your Dad Sue! Our sincere condolences to you and your family. May the memories of how amazing he was and the fact that so many are praying and thinking about you help comfort you all in this difficult time.

My condolences to you and your family on the loss of your dear loved one. Losing a loved one is a distressing and painful time. We have assurance from God’s word at Psalm 34:18 that he is near to those brokenhearted and he saves those crushed in spirit. It is my hope that your family will find strength to endure during the days ahead.
From Phillips Family

My sincere condolences to the Zielke family on your loss. Pat was a wonderful man and one of the finest public servants I've known. I met him on a number of occasions (Schmidty's & other functions) and I always felt he knew who I was and greeted me as a friend. I have two sisters who live in La Crosse and they stated he was the best mayor in their lifetime. I have no doubt thousands of people in the area feel the same. God bless him ! Gary J. Althoff, President Village of Bangor

From Anthony and Bonnie Zielke

I am writing to extend sympathy to all of the Zielke family for the loss of this man who tried hard and worked hard for his family and his city all of his life. I send specific condolences to my goddaughter, the daughter of Terry and his first wife, Debbie Day; though I have lost touch with you and your parents over the years, I remember how much they loved you and what a joy you were to your grandparents. Losing a grandparent is not easy, no matter the relationship, and I am sorry for your loss.
From Chrisanne McGraw

I always felt great that Pat had me in his cell phone contacts. When Pat, in early years as mayor, would call me as the City's independent auditor, he would be brief and to the point. We had conversations about the CDGB Federal funding used for the Harborview development including the Center. We also discussed the first TIF district funding. His remark about my Audit Report on Federal funding "You better be right". We lost a good man, but have his legacy. Condolences to his family.

My sympathies to Pat's family. He was a down to earth person who met you with a smile. He was willing to listen to all and help solve problems by listening and bringing people together. His years as Mayor were a blessing to the City of La Crosse.

I met you when I was in college. You seemed like a decent man and you were the mayor of this wonderful city at a great and fun Time in my life. RIP

My deepest sympathies. Pat was a great man, every bit the gentleman and statesman as he has been described by so many. I always enjoyed the times I had an opportunity to be around him. My prayers to all the family.
