I met Buford at Salem Terrace in West Salem. He always had a smile and handshake for everyone. Although his words were hard to understand, somehow he could get across what he was trying to say. I learned a little bit of sign language and, I think, Buford was surprised and excited that I could communicate with him through sign language. I will miss his smiling face and "salute".
