From Tom O'Heron

So sorry for your lose, I wish I were home so I could be there for you as well. I just want to let you know how thankful I am to have had a friend like Shirley. We were childhood friends and I have many gooe memories of those days growing up in Coon Valley, what a great place to live as a child. The many times we shared in good times. I also enjoyed the times I would be at their home for meals. Helen was a great cook and Steve of course, known for his wild game feeds. They were great. I was in Shirl and LaVerne's wedding. Well back then they wore those big slips with that material that was scratchy. They had a dance in the evening and of course I loved to dance, and when I got home that night, well the nylons were hanging on by a string. It was fun though. When I had our daughter, Karri, Shirley was the nurse that was with me, of course, she wanted to be there, it sure made Birger feel a lot better having Shirley there to calm him. When Karri was pregnant with Cole and she was having so many problems, I would call Shirley after each of Karri's doctor appointments and ask her if what the doctor said was right and would everything be okay. She was my anchor. I have to many things I would like to say, but most of all, I want to say I am thankful to have had a friend like Shirley as, I have many precious memories of her. Please hold on to the precious memories you have, they will be more precious as time goes by. Again, so sorry, from both Birger and Phyl
