I taught with Ruth for many years at Stone Bank School outside Oconomowoc. Past students so often commented about learning to read and write well in Mrs. Herling's class! When Ruth chose to walk out the school house doors for the final time, I hosted her retirement party in my home. Her successor was pleasantly pleased to inherit her extensive classroom library of prize-winning children's books. With fond memories from Stone Bank!
