Condolences for

Dear Sully and family, So sad to hear the news of Butch's passing. You have all been in my thoughts this week. I will never forget the good times we all had growing up on Erie street playing basketball, the basset hounds, the beer truck, 16" softball, blackbear soda, singing songs and so much more. The Spanjer's Community Center was the best. Butch was one of a kind, for sure. You are so right, he was your rock. Back then he was the rock of the neighborhood. I will never forget him.

To Jeanne and Family, You are so in my thoughts. Somehow you must find your way through the pain of such a loss and feel so grateful to have such a person in your life for so long and to have witnessed such gracefulness, kindness, giving and such a caring person. Be so grateful for the memories that you can carry with you everyday. And stand so proud. You will miss him more than words can say, but talk to him everyday, he will be there, always. I miss him so and he wasn't even my dad. Just seeing him a couple of weeks ago means the world to me. The warmth from his eyes is like his heart touching your heart. No words needed. I remember the beer truck and Johnson Park. I remember how he would lay on the floor to watch tv with his head against the side of the couch or chair; and how he would get anyone passing through to make him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich....and you always stopped to do so....and the reward was so great....to hear him say "thank you sweetie" or thank you pammie". We live and learn from the people around us, and I feel blessed to have known your dad, (and you and your entire family). Call me anytime for anything. Your friend, Always! Pam

Our deepest sympathy to the Spanjers. So saddened to hear of Butch's passing, but he is in a much better place. He will be waiting for all of us to rejoin him besides our father God. He was a great man who had many wonderful stories to hear. He always looked for the positive spin on everything even when all the chips were down. Praise the glory of God. Amen

Dear Sully and Family, My sincerest condolences to everyone. I am very sad to hear of Butch's passing. He will truly be missed. I have many fond memories of Uncle Butch and his sense of humor and the good old days! His garb on the 4th of July comes to mind! He was such a character and gave my dad a run for his money! They are probably pulling pranks up in heaven as we speak. I am sure heaven just became a very fun place indeed! Love to all Sandy
