Condolences for Eugene G. "Gene" Leonard

I only heard about Gene's passing this afternoon, after the funeral. It saddened me very much. My condolences to the family of which he spoke proudly. Gene and I have had some real estate business together; among others, I sold his mom's home after she passed. He didn't make the 100 like his mom. I saw him about a month or two ago at Gundersen; I was leaving the East building and he was in a rush to get to his appointment. He looked well and although I knew of his diagnosis it make me think he was out of the woods. What a wonderful, gentle and wise man he was! I shall miss his visits to my office. He would have coffee in the morning at Fayzee's with his retired buddies, and then sometimes stop at my office and we'd chat. Even our receptionist was fond of him, and sad to hear we would not have any more visits from him. I wish the world had more people like him. Where I come from, we light a candle when we hear of somebody who passed. I just lit one for Gene. May he rest in peace!

Gene was a very good man. I was in an investment club with him for many years and he was always organized, knowledgeable and completely on top of things. Very intelligent. I am a better person having known Gene Leonard. My sympathy to his familyqZOFt4

To the family of Gene Leonard, It's been many years since Gene & I saw eachother, probably at a funeral. But will remember him as a sweet, giving man, so involved in the care of his wife and mother. My sister Jean Hess sent pictures of the cousins' reunion & Gene looked great last year. My hubby has Alzheimers , so have that bond with Gene also. May he rest in peace.
