Dorothy I worked with your husband for many years at BakeMark (Karps). I was sad to hear of his passing. He spoke often and lovingly of you. To Dorothy and Family, I want to extend my sincere condolences to you. I was sorry to see the passing of John. I don't know if you remember me; Dorothy, but John was my Mom's (Shirley Hoverud) manager when she worked at Bell Discount aka Belscot. I remember John as being a hard worker. When he went into the service he wanted people to write to him and I know I wrote him a few letters with my Mom's guidance. The last time I seen John was when he attended my Mom's funeral back in October.2018. I didn't get the opportunity to talk to him and now I wish he would have come up to me. He did speak to my husband Ray, and spent sometime with Shirley Hefti, as she also worked for him at Belscot. Again, I am sorry for your loss. It sounds like John had a strong faith and left a lot of memories for his family to help carry you all through this difficult time. Sincerely, Vickie Michalko (Hoverud)

I have known your dad and mom since you and Jennifer were in school together, Scott. They were always the sweetest and nicest people. When his journey started, I had hoped all would turn out and he would be okay. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out that way. It was so great to see that he was able to say his goodbyes and achieved a peace that only believing in God can bring. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Just know that he will be always be with you and watching over you all.

So very sorry to hear of John leaving this earthly home to live now in heaven, free from all cancer. John and I grew up together in Johns Coulee, going to Valley View, and being together many times when our parents visited or gathered for picnics, etc. After that we always caught up at Logan Reunions. I treasure those memories and I know you have many more to keep in your heart. Prayers have been with John and your family, and continued prayers for you now as you journey through the days ahead. A friend, Jewel Root

To Dorothy and family...Sincere condolences on your loss. I worked a lot with John through the years mostly in northern Wisconsin and always enjoyed working with him. He had a great sense of humor but was always a hard worker. He will be missed.
