He was top of his class at WTC which earned him an internship at Trane Company and later a full-time position as a mechanical draftsman. Jacob’s early experience on the family dairy farm nurtured his passion for the outdoors. He cherished spending time at all family gatherings and the Sawyer family cabin. He took pleasure in riding his ATV, relaxing on the sandbar, fishing, and telling stories. He especially enjoyed camping on the river. His card playing success at deer camp earned him the nickname “The King”. Jacob was also an avid reader. He had a thirst for knowledge and always stayed current with news, politics, and Wisconsin sports teams. Jacob was a very kind and caring person who faced much adversity and confronted life’s challenges with courage and without complaint. He was an inspiration to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his three nieces, Elizabeth, Ashlyn, and Natalie, whom he adored.
