Doris and Walter moved to Eastman, Wis., near Prairie du Chien. Walter designed and together they built their dream home on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River. Walter preceded Doris in death on January 20, 2005; they had been married for 51 wonderful years. Doris was very creative in many aspects of needlework, sewing, and crafts. She was an avid reader and had an extensive library which will be donated to several senior homes. Doris loved cats and volunteered at the Humane Society. In her younger years, Doris decided, upon her death, to donate her body to the University of Wisconsin-Madison for study to help others in any way possible. When her remains are returned she will be buried next to her husband, Walter, in Sunset Ridge Cemetery in Kenosha, Wis., where there will be a private inurnment service. Doris was dearly loved by her family and friends in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Sweden. She will always be remembered as a woman of strong faith and purpose and will be greatly missed by all. In addition to her husband, Walter, Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Frances (Berry) Micks.
