Obituary for Leora M. "Pudge" Jambois


Leora “Pudge” M. Jambois Leora “Pudge” M. Jambois, (nee, Johnson), born October 17, 1936, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 6, 2017. Pudge grew up on a family farm in Victory, Wis., and graduated from DeSoto High School with the class of 1954. She worked for Trane Company in La Crosse before her marriage to Frank Jambois. The couple were married on June 10, 1961, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Genoa, Wis. Pudge then stayed home caring for and raising her children. She loved her family more than anything and also loved her tennis family, her garden, and bird watching. She is and will be dearly missed by her family. Survivors include her husband, Frank; sons, Kenneth and Peter; daughters, Ann Jambois (Mark Conrad) and Ellen (Tom) Lapinski; three grandchildren, Ashli Jambois and William and Sonja Lapinski; two brothers, Don (Mary) Johnson and Loren (Ruth) Johnson; sister-in-law, Iris Topp; brothers-in-law, William and Norman Jambois; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Violet and Melford Johnson; two sisters, Carole Maybee and Joanne Boardman;sisters-in-law, Nancy, Judy, and Edith Jambois; and a brother-in-law, Jack Topp. A funeral mass will be at 2 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2017, at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 2006 Weston St., La Crosse. Father Brian Konopa will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Genoa. A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of mass Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Homes and Crematory, Woodruff Chapel, La Crosse, is in charge of arrangements.
