Obituary for Mary Mashak

Mary P. Mashak, 88, of Bangor, passed away surrounded by her children, Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at Mill Street Manor, West Salem. She was born, March 29, 1929, to Edward J. And Martha R. Clements. Mary attended Meadow Brook Grade School and Cashton High School. She was united in marriage to Harold R. Mashak on Aug. 20, 1946. Mary spent most of her time raising seven children and later, worked at Decomet in Sparta for 10 years. She also enjoyed selling Avon for many years. In her later years, Mary enjoyed trips to the casino. Survivors include her children, Carol (Mike) Mader, Ruth (Mike) Vanderploeg, Diane (Wayne) Yeske, Sylvia (Mike) Horstman, Brian (Carmen) Mashak, Eugene (Joanne) Mashak, and Broderick Mashak; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; her sister, Geraldine Fritsch; brother, Isadore (Alvina); and sisters-in-law, Adeline Clements, Joanne Clements, Rose Ann Kazmierczak, Doris Mashak, and Crystal Mashak. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; siblings, Arnold Clements, Elaine (Sidney) Matthes, Ralph Clements, Victor (Adeline) Clements; infant brother, Edward, Jr.; and a brother-in-law, David Fritsch. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 303 S. 16th Ave., Bangor. Father Douglas Robertson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m., until the time of mass, Saturday, at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bangor, or St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, West Salem. The family respectfully requests no flowers.
