Obituary for Franklin Lee Cox

Franklin Lee Cox, 75, of Tomball, Texas, passed away, on Friday, June 22, 2018. He was born January 7, 1943, in La Crosse, to the late Frank and Janet (Lee) Cox. Franklin was a 1961 graduate of West Salem High School and 1964 graduate of Spencerian Business College, Milwaukee. He entered the Army in 1964. On the Aug. 21, 1965, he married Karen (Schmidt) in Milwaukee. During their 52 years of marriage they lived in WI, IL, TX, Nigeria, UK and back to TX. Frank was a collector, historian, hunter, “STORYTELLER”, and for the past thirty years raised Hereford cattle. He wishes to be remembered as being, “A Good American”. Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life are his wife, Karen; daughter, Jeanette (Jonathan) Lawson; son, Douglas (Taylor) Cox; granddaughters, Taylor Lawson, Marie Cox, and Bonnie Cox; and grandson, Douglas Lee Cox. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Janet Cox; sister, Bonnie Cox Handland; and son, Allan Cox. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the Presbyterian Church of West Salem. Pastor Larry Olson will officiate. Burial will follow in Neshonoc Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m., until the time of service, Saturday, at the church. A celebration of life will be held in Tomball, Texas, in July. Relatives and friends will be notified by the family as to date, place, and time. Frank has requested any memorials be sent to the Salvation Army.
