Obituary for Ardelle "Ardie" A. Johnson

Ardelle “Ardie” A. Johnson, 72, of Bangor, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Franciscan Healthcare in La Crosse. She was surrounded by her family and friends at the time of her death. Ardie was born July 18, 1946, in La Crosse, to Milo and Charlotte (Anderson) Knudson. She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Mindoro High School in 1964. On September 4, 1965 she married Curtis R. Johnson at Mindoro Lutheran Church. Ardie was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was an amazing cook and loved to make meals for her family. She also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Ardie will be deeply missed and is survived by her 3 children, her sons; Brent of La Crosse, Justin of Bangor, and two precious grand-children Olivia and Carson; her daughter, Michelle of La Crosse; her grand-daughter, Jasmine of Arcadia; her siblings – sisters, Marlene (Leland) Kastenschmidt, Clarice (Roy) Koltermann, Judy (Ellis) Stetzer; brother, Steve (Lynn) Knudson; brother-in-law, Byron (Karen) Johnson, and many other aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, special friends and neighbors. We are grateful to her friend, Mike Lohse, who helped her with her difficult health struggles over the past two years. She never wanted to be a burden to her children or to her family. Ardie was preceded in death by her husband Curtis in 2009 and both her parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kermit and Orabelle (Pfaff) Johnson. In accordance with Ardies’ wishes, her body will be cremated and a memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018 at the Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, Bangor Chapel, 102 Hattan Street. A private burial will be held at a later date at the Neshonoc Cemetery in West Salem, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials or donations be made in Ardie’s name to the Bangor First Responders; these amazing volunteers assisted so many times over the past two years for Ardie’s health issues.
