Dougland L. "Doug"  Paisley

Dougland L. "Doug" Paisley, 70, of Mindoro, passed away with his family by his side on Monday, July 25, 2011, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.
He was born October 25, 1940, in La Crosse to Douglas and Lila (Storandt) Paisley.  Doug was a 1958 graduate of Mindoro High School.  In the fall of 1958, he went to work for American Motors in Kenosha, Wis.  On April 2, 1960, Doug married Eileen Anderson at Halfway Creek Lutheran Church.  He and his wife moved back to Mindoro on March 15, 1961, and started Paisley's Mobil.  During the late 1960s, Doug and Bruce Olson started Paisley Trucking which is still operating today.  Doug also worked as a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service from 1968 until 1998.  In the late 1960s until the early 1980s, he was a water and sewer operator in Mindoro.  He was a charter member of the Town of Farmington Volunteer Fire Department and was the last charter member to retire after 39 years of service.  Doug also served as president of the Fire Department Association.  He was a longtime member of the Mindoro Lions Club, serving as Spanferkel Parade Chairman for many years, was named parade marshal in 1990 and Mindoro Citizen of the Year in 1998. 
Doug was a lifetime member of the Mindoro Presbyterian Church.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen; two sons, Richard (La Rae) and Steven (Sandy); seven grandchildren, Crystal (Brian) Knoll, Rebecca (Jake) Arneson, Amanda (Mitchell) Johnson, Anthony (fiance, Brittany Kostecki) Paisley, Nichole (Tim) Bielefeldt, and Jesse and Jordan Paisley; four great-grandchildren, Caleb Arneson, and Ella, John, and Norah Bielefeldt; one sister, Leann Kramer; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Eldred and Marie Anderson; and two brothers-in-law, Armin Kramer and Eugene Anderson.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 29, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Mindoro Presbyterian Church.  Rev. Cindy Arndt will officiate.  Burial will be in Farmington Cemetery.  Friends may call at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, (Jostad Chapel), 121 N. Youlon St., West Salem, on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Memorials are preferred.
