Obituary for Paula Timm Frohnauer

Paula Timm Frohnauer, age 92, formerly of Minneapolis, died Tuesday, March 5, 2019. She and Leonard were married for 64 loving years. Their lives centered around their four children and eventually their grandchildren. By the way they lived, they demonstrated to all these young people their commitment to putting faith in God first and to the importance of good education. They also passed to several generations their love of camping, gardening, and travel. In later years, they derived much joy from square dancing. It was very difficult for Paula when Alzheimer’s took Lenny from her three years ago. Paula chose the word “feisty” to describe herself, and it fits. She never hesitated to speak up when she felt something was not right. Even when it was difficult to stand up for principles she believed in, she did not back down. Paula is survived by children, Stephen (Cindy), Mary (Larry), Tony (Kelly), and Ann (Kerry), as well as 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A Tridentine Requiem Low Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1032 Caledonia St., La Crosse. Fr. James Altman will offiicate. A Rosary will be recited beginning at 10 a.m., followed by the Mass at 10:30. Lunch and social time at her daughter’s home will follow the Mass. Private burial will take place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, at a later date. In lieu of flowers or memorials, it was Paula’s wish to receive your prayers. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Brookdale Clare Bridge Memory Care unit in La Crosse for the attentive and tender care they gave to both Lenny and Paula consistently over many years. Heartfelt thanks also to Dr. David Momont; Mom and Dad were blessed to have him. Finally, hospice care from Gundersen Health System added significant peace and comfort to her final journey. Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Homes and Crematory, Woodruff Chapel, La Crosse, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent at www.jandtfredrickson.com.
