Obituary for Gordon A. Neuman


Gordon A. Neuman, 94, of Bangor, Wis., passed away Monday, July 29, 2019, at Mulder Health Care Facility, West Salem. He was born October 18, 1924, at his home in La Crosse, to Archie and Irene (Freimark) Neuman. Gordon graduated from La Crosse Logan High School in 1942. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII as a radio operator serving in Alaska and England. Gordon was honorably discharged in 1948. On September 2, 1950, Gordon married Elizabeth Morley and they were married 55 years before Elizabeth passed away on June 6, 2004. Gordon was a press operator working at various news papers and printing companies. He retired from La Crosse Graphics in 1988. Gordon was a member of the Anderson-Good American Legion Post 40 and the VFW Post 8278, both of Bangor. He enjoyed spending time working in his large garden, raising honey bees, and playing cards with his neighbors. Gordon is survived by his daughter, Kim (Brian Noth) Dockham of Onalaska, Wis.; his grandson, Zach Dockham of La Crosse; his sister, Janice Stout of Eau Claire, Wis.; his brother, Robert (Mabel) Neuman of Davis, Calif.; and his sister-in-law, Emogene Neuman of Brighton, Tenn. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. In addition to his parents and wife, Gordon was preceded in death by his brothers, Keith (Marge) Neuman and Ron Neuman. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2019, at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 401 16th Ave., North, Bangor. Rev Roy Hefti will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery with military honors by the Anderson-Good American Legion Post 40 of Bangor and the United States Air Force Funeral Honor Guard. A visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
