Obituary for Carl L. Biemiller III


Major Carl Biemiller was born on August 9th, 1939, in Camden, New Jersey. His family bought a house in Haddenfield, N.J., where Carl was the second of four boys. Carl was a graduate of Haddenfield High School, The University of Delaware and also received 3 master’s degrees from Temple University and Golden Gate University. Carl retired from the United States Army after serving 20 years with three tours in Vietnam, 1 tour in Germany and a year in South Korea. Carl was an Intel Officer and learned to speak German and Vietnamese. He met his wife in Honolulu, while stationed at Schofield Barracks. They married in 1976 and had twin daughters, Rachel and Erin. The family lived in San Francisco and Petaluma, California. They moved to Lilburn, Georgia in 1995, where Carl was employed by the FDIC and later retired from the Environmental Protection Agency. He was a financial analyst, using his multiple skills to oversee Federal loans for freshwater projects. Carl was a lifelong Presbyterian with a strong faith, serving as a Deacon and Elder. Carl volunteered for many civic positions and was named Man of the Year for the Honolulu JC’s in 1975. Carl is survived by his wife of 43 years, Trish Biemiller; daughters, Dr. Rachel Biemiller, M.D. of LaCrosse, WI.; LCDR Erin Caldwell, USCG; brother Eric Biemiller, Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews. Carl will be greatly missed.
