Obituary for Eunice E. Grabhorn

Eunice E. Grabhorn, 90, of Rockland, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. She was born September 22, 1929, in Cataract, Wis., to Adolph and Hattie (Voigt) Schober. Eunice was a graduate of Sparta High School. On January 26, 1957, she married Albert Grabhorn and they celebrated almost 63 years of marriage together. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Eunice worked at Spartek in Sparta, Wisconsin. She loved canning vegetables, cooking, and baking, and always had some baked goods in the house for her family to enjoy. Eunice also loved flowers, especially lilacs and roses and enjoyed a good card game. Most of all, Eunice was a Christian woman with Christian values; she was very family oriented, giving unselfishly to her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Albert of Rockland; five children, Sharry (Russell) Niedfeldt of Sparta, Linda (Tim) Garavalia of Bangor, Christine (Douglas) Niedfeldt of Black River Falls, and Dale Grabhorn and Wayne Grabhorn, both of Rockland; eight grandchildren, Brenna Wood and Mitchell Niedfeldt, Jessica (Joe) Austin, Eric Stark, Dustin Garavalia, and Tyler Garavalia (fiancee, Sara Clements), and Melissa (Thomas) Lawrence and Michael Niedfeldt; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Delores Olson of Brice Prairie, Wis.; one brother, Harlan Schober of Cataract, Wis.; and nieces and nephews. Eunice was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Darwin; one sister, Verna Strunk; one sister-in-law, Doris Schober; and two brothers-in-law, Gordon Olson and Marvin Strunk. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2020, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, W3565 CTH M, Barre Mills. Rev. Andrew Schultz will officiate. A visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church. Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2020, at Woodlawn Cemetery, 3636 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse.
