Obituary for Lillian V. "Lil" Wilson

Lillian V. "Lil" Wilson, 87, of La Crosse, passed away with her sons by her side, Friday, September 16, 2011, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse.
She was born June 26, 1924, in Rice Lake, Wis., to August and Margaret (Schirmer) Reichert. On May 11, 1948, Lil was united in marriage to Roy Wilson in Rice Lake, Wis. They then moved to La Crosse where they owned and operated Brite-Way Sign Company for many years. Lil was a career woman who was the supervisor of medical records at Gundersen Clinic in La Crosse for 22 years until her retirement. Lil and Roy shared 57 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on September 26, 2005. She enjoyed playing bingo, was an avid Green Bay Packers and NASCAR fan, and spending time with her sons. Lil also enjoyed making Christmas extra special. She had a very giving personality and everyone she met liked her. Lil was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include four sons, David (Mary), Gregory (Rebecca), Gary (Tara), and Daniel; ten grandchildren, Kari, Kristi, Kelly, Becky, Nicole, Richard, Samuel, Kristen, Matt, and Emma; six great-grandchildren, Kody, Jenna, Krya, Gavin, Kylee, and Caleb; her special friends from Bethany-Riverside Nursing Facility; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Lil was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lester and Lawrence Reichert; one sister, Dora Williams; and her special friend, Louise Bantley.
Memorial services will be Monday, September 19, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home (Woodruff Chapel), 4239 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse. Rev. Kimberly Jordan will officiate. Entombment will be in the Garden Mausoleum at Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 12 noon until the time of service.
