Obituary for Marjorie A. "Margi" (Nuttelman) Hagel

Marjorie A. "Margi" (Nuttelman) Hagel
Marjorie A. "Margi" (Nuttelman) Hagel, 81, of Holmen, Wis., died Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Mulder Health Care Facility, West Salem. She was born November 23, 1929, in West Salem to Archie and Sophie (Hauser) Nuttelman. Margi was a 1951 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. On April 30, 1960, she married Kenneth Hagel at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. Kenneth preceded Margi in death on March 27, 1999. She worked as a home economist for many years for Shawano County. Margi owned and operated Margi's Bridal Shop in La Crosse from the late 1950's until she sold it in the early 1970's. This bridal shop is now known as The Wedding Tree. She then worked for Housing Data Specialists until her retirement. Margi enjoyed tending to her sheep and helping out on the farm when possible. Her greatest joy was running the six-row combine in the fall. Margi was an avid fan of the Wisconsin Badgers. People always knew if the Badgers won or lost by the flag that would hang from her front porch. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her two sons, James (special friend, Kathi Kitzke) and Gary (Anne), both of Holmen; her sister-in-law, Nancy Nuttelman of West Salem; and her beloved dog, Brandy.
In addition to her husband, Margi was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, LaVerne Nuttelman.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, (Jostad Chapel), 121 N. Youlon St., West Salem, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Graveside services and burial will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Halfway Creek Lutheran Cemetery, rural Holmen, followed by an open house held at the home of Jim Hagel in Holmen, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Jean Pagliaro will officiate the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be given to Margi's favorite charities.
