Obituary for Dorothy Mae Landsinger


Dorothy M Landsinger, age 89 of La Crosse, WI passed away into eternal life on 3-22-22 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center. Dorothy was born on November 14th, 1932 to Frank and Lilah Saverda in Black River Falls, WI. She attended Melrose High School and Western Technical College. She married Marvin J Landsinger June 3rd, 1961 and they were married 54 years up to Marv’s passing. Dorothy was employed as an accountant for 20 years at Dairyland Power Cooperative until they adopted their children, Scott in 1970 and Kevin in 1972. Dorothy was a life long member of First Congregational Church where she was active in Women’s Fellowship. She was also active in the VFW women’s auxiliary. Dorothy enjoyed entertaining (especially family),dancing, cards, and traveling throughout the country and world. She is survived by her son Scott (Kathy), brother Irwin Saverda (Joyce Rasmussen), daughter-in-law Julie Landsinger, grandchildren Olivia, Dylan, and Amelia, sister-in-law Margie Landsinger, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin, son Kevin, parents Frank and Lilah Saverda, sister Margaret Saverda, and many other friends and loved ones. God blessed us with an angel whom has now been called home. Dorothy, along with her family, wish to thank the staffs of Eagle Crest South, Brookdale, and Hillview for their love and care during her residency. The family would also like to thank the staff at Gundersen for their gracious care and kindness. Due to Covid restrictions, a private service will be held for family. In lieu of flowers or financial gifts, it was Dorothy’s wish that you make a direct donation to your favorite charity.
