Obituary for Elnora "Norie" Marion Caulum


Elnora “Norie” Marion Caulum, 92, formerly of rural Bangor, joined her beloved husband Harry in their heavenly home on April 9, 2022 after a short illness. Elnora was born on September 27, 1929 to LeRoy and Coral (Cleveland) Gates, and grew up as the 7th of 10 children in rural Melrose, WI. She played badminton at Melrose High School where she graduated in 1947. She was united in marriage to Harry F. Caulum on April 23, 1949 and a lifetime of love and dedication followed. They moved to Bells Coulee in 1954 to farm and raise their five children. Elnora was a devoted homemaker for most of her life, though she worked odd jobs during tough times to help the family. Many will also recall fond memories of her Reflexology treatments, in which she was trained and administered to friends and family for decades. She was a member of Bells Coulee Lutheran Church for over 60 years, where she supported the congregation’s mission in faith through various roles and abilities. Elnora will be remembered for her kind heart, quick laughter, endless love and the best doughnut recipe around! She is survived by her children; Harry Jr. (Ellen) of Bangor, Pam (Tom) Powers of Holmen, Dan of Bangor, Gary (Kaye) of Sparta, and Todd (Carol) of Bangor; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Elnora is further survived by brothers Clarence and Richard (Helen), along with many cherished nieces and nephews and dear friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Harley, Violet, Walter, Eva, Irene, Alice and Lawrence and parents-in-law Clarence and Eleonora Caulum. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 18, 2022, at Bells Coulee Lutheran Church, N7289 Cty. Rd., E, Bangor. Burial will follow in Burns Cemetery. A visitation will be from 9:00 a.m., until the time of service, Monday, at the church.
