Obituary for Ralph W. Frisbie

Ralph W. Frisbie, 85, of La Crosse, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse.
He was born October 16, 1926, in La Crosse, to William Joseph and Ruth (Mundstock) Frisbie. Ralph was a 1944 graduate of Central High School in La Crosse. He then served in the United Sates Army from 1944 until 1946. On March 26, 1947, Ralph married Margaret Storandt in West Salem, Wis. Ralph was employed for 38 years at the La Crosse Tribune until retiring at age 55, in 1981, as Circulation Director. He was a member of First Congregational U.C.C. in La Crosse. Ralph also was a member of the Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post 52 and the Thomas Rooney VFW Post 1530, both of La Crosse, and a member of the West Salem Masons, Salem Lodge #125 F & AM.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Margaret of La Crosse; two sons, Douglas (Gail) Frisbie of Rochester, Minn., and Thomas (Mary Ann) Frisbie of Decatur, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Michael and Laura Frisbie, both of Decatur, Ga.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Hope (Daryl) Lovgren.
In accordance with Ralph's wishes, his body will be cremated and a private family graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse. Memorials are preferred to the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation for Cancer Research or to First Congregational U.C.C., both in La Crosse.
