Obituary for Randy Lee “Woody” Wooden


Randy "Woody" Lee Wooden, age 63, passed suddenly on June 13th at Gundersen Health System, in La Crosse. Woody was born June 11, 1959, to Frank and Gwen Wooden in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He attended Longfellow and later graduated from Central High school. Woody later Married Debra "Debbie" Volden in June of 1995. They have a daughter Miranda Wooden, and son, Landen Tollackson, from Debbie's previous marriage. Woody most recently worked at the City Brewery in La Crosse. Woody enjoyed and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and all around outdoorsman. He excelled at archery at a very young age, even teaching his own archery class in school. He would later go on to win 3 Wisconsin State Championships. Woody also had a knack for finding and knowing the best spots to pick morel mushrooms, which he generously shared with all his friends. The man could also play one heck of a game of pool. Woody's fondest memories are of camping in Rock Dam, mushroom picking with his best friend, Mark Sesvold, and bear hunting trips up north with his best friend, Jim Folcey. Woody also loved making memories with his wife by traveling to exotic locations, such as Jamaica, Mexico, Myrtle Beach, and Las Vegas. His favorite team to cheer for was the Packers and was also very passionate for golf. Mostly, Woody loved his family and friends. Especially his granddaughter, Olivia (Yah Yah). Woody is survived by his wife, Debbie; daughter, Miranda; son, Landen; granddaughter, Olivia; sister, Connie; and brother, Scott Wooden. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Gwen and brother, Greg Wooden. More importantly, Woody is survived by the memory of him that is in everyone that Woody has touched in his life. A kind, caring and gentle soul. All who knew him, loved him. He will forever be missed, and forever live in our hearts.. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, Woodruff Chapel, La Crosse. A visitation will be from 12:30 p.m., until the time of service, Sunday, at the funeral home.
