Obituary for Doris B. Brindley

Doris B. Brindley, 85, of La Crosse, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Clare Bridge Assisted Living Facility, La Crosse.
She was born January 7, 1926, to Roy "Bill" and Alta "Tillie" (Duty) Blanchard. Doris attended Central High School and also did course work at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. On July 26, 1947, she married John W. "Jack" Brindley in La Crosse. Doris lived with Jack in Park Ridge, Ill., where she worked for the Cigna Life Insurance Company for many years until moving back to La Crosse in 1990. She was a very thoughtful and generous person during her lifetime. Doris was a good friend to many people and gave much assistance to those in need.
Survivors include her brother, Wayne (Pat) Blanchard; her two sisters-in-law, Jean Blanchard and Margaret Blanchard; and many nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack and her two brothers, Kenneth and Jay Blanchard.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, (Woodruff Chapel), 4239 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse. Rev. Ted Dewald will officiate. Private family burial will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Gundersen Lutheran Hospice Program, La Crosse, or the Coulee Region Humane Society, Onalaska. Online condolences may be sent at
