It was the "little things" and simple joys in life that brought Sharon the most happiness, such as taking long walks and enjoying the beauty of nature, wild flowers in the spring, being surrounded by her family and the laughter of children, and giving hugs.  Some of her favorite things include gardenias, playing piano, "The Sound of Music", and her special holiday "May Day".  Her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren.  She gave all of herself to her family and loved her children and grandchildren with unconditional love.
Survivors include her mother, Buddy Thomas; six children, Barbara (Joe) McDonald, Brenda (Ron) Lambrecht, Bev (Keith) Matz, Sherry Thomson, Jennifer (George) Hart, and David (Brandi) Branchfield; and 17 grandchildren.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Edward Thomas; her brother, Andrew; and her husband, Lloyd Luethe.

The family would like to that the staff at Bethany Riverside Nursing Facility for the wonderful and loving care that they provided to Sharon.
"God saw you were getting tired, the cure was not to be.
He wrapped his arms around you and whispered, "come with me."
You suffered much in silence, your spirit did not bend.
You faced your pain with courage, until the very end.
You tried so hard to stay with us, your fight was all in vain.
God took you to his loving home and freed you from all pain.
You didn't deserve what you went through, and so he gave you rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best."
