Obituary for Mildred F. Mannel

Mildred F. Mannel, 94, of La Crosse, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011, at Bethany St. Joseph Care Center, La Crosse.

She was born April 26, 1917, in La Crosse to Herman and Della (Miller) Troyanek. Mildred was employed at Auto-Lite in La Crosse for 20 years and she also worked at the Broaster House and Bluffview Restaurant, both in La Crosse. She was a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, La Crosse. Mildred enjoyed shopping and visiting her daughter, Renee, in California where they would sightsee and go shopping. Mildred also enjoyed reading, crocheting, doing needlework, and visiting with friends and family.

Survivors include her daughter, Renee Mannel (special friend, Craig McMillian) of Irvine, Calif.; three grandchildren, Sara Roraff, Donald Mannel, and Stacy Mannel, all of La Crosse; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Gruen and Leeland and Lillian Roraff, all of La Crosse; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Mannel (special friend, Vince Duffy) of Spring Grove, Minn.; two brothers, Herman "Butch" (Jean) Troyanek of La Crosse and James (Linda) Troyanek of Nekoosa, Wis.; her sister-in-law, Jalayne Troyanek of Nipomo, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Daly and Donald Mannel; her son, Ronald Mannel; and her brother, LeRoy Troyanek.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 29, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4141 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse. Rev. Roger Hjelle will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
