Arlene M. Simpson, 82, of Bangor, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. 
She was born July 12, 1929, in La Crosse County to George and Helen (Hatz) Streeck and graduated from Cashton High School.  Arlene married Darrel Simpson in rural Bangor, with whom she had four children.  They resided in Middle Ridge, Wis., for many years and later divorced.  Arlene had many fond memories of her time employed at Villa St. Joseph, St. Francis Hospital, Bangor Cheese Shop, and for the La Crosse County Senior Meals.  She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Bangor and the Presbyterian Women's Organization.
Arlene is survived by her daughters, Laurie (Ed) Solberg of Sparta, and Lynette (Jeffrey) Ikert and Joanie (Darrell) Wilcox, both of Bangor; her beloved grandchildren, Scott (Heide) Solberg, Karissa Solberg, Justin Ikert, Nicholas (Gayle) Ikert, and Adam, Amy, and Alyson Wilcox; her cherished great-grandchildren, Andre', Kalvin, and Ava Solberg; her daughter-in-law, Connie Simpson of Bangor; and her sister-in-law, Marie Streeck of Bangor.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Irene Souchek, Ellen Schroeder, and Donald Streeck; and her son, Ron Simpson.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 14, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 1612 Pearl St., Bangor.  Rev. Cindy Arndt will officiate.  Burial will be in Rockland Cemetery.  Friends may call at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, Hwy 162 and Hattan St., Bangor, on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
