Condolences for Cindy Lou Wood

Hannah and Sarah, so sorry for your loss. Since the pandemic, Cindy and I had only emailed a time or two, wishing she could see you both. After trying to call her last week before her birthday, I found out about her passing. We knew each other since high school. Don't know if either of you remember that I was with you three on the trip to Mackinac Island. If you have contact info for me, please reach out. Looks like this website says I can email a message to them, and they'll forward to you. Again, my condolences to you both.

I knew Cindy as a kind and considerate neighbor, who always gave out the best candy on Halloween. I've also known her as a psychiatrist and I have learned much from caring for her patients and reading through her work.

Cindy was our colleague at Gundersen Health System for several decades. A kind, compassionate and unassuming colleague, Cindy was a thoughtful problem solver, beloved by patients and respected by colleagues. We experienced her many contributions in taking care of patients and remember Cindy, in her quiet, steadfast way, as a woman ahead of her time.

I worked with Dr Wood for many years in Behavioral Health. She was just so unassumingly talented. The care and empathy she provided to her special population of patients was priceless.

I am deeply grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Cindy. Working closely with her in her practice was one of the greatest learning opportunities of my nursing career. Her compassionate, knowledgeable care for patients living with complex psychiatric histories coupled with developmental disabilities will be hard to replace.

Cindy and I were colleagues at Gundersen for many years. She was particularly compassionate and effective with patients who had special needs. I learned much from her in that regard. Always was available and respectful. And a proud mom! May God bless her abundantly.

Cindy was very compassionate and a kind person with a giving nature. I fondly remember her many stories and helpful guidance throughout the years I worked with her. I feel blessed to have known her.
