Condolences for Ruth M. Heintz

As a new graduate in 1968, Ruth was my first Head Nurse and role model for 20 years at New York Hospital and dear friend for 55 years. I remember what she called her “car wash” for the patients which was a complete bath, shave, clean dentures ,hair comb and a walk up and down the hall. She was a wonderful nurse and always took the sickest patients to care for besides being in charge. Yes , she loved her books, cats , birds, ballet , the arts and made her famous cheesecake . We grew old together, I will miss our phone calls. I know God will say “Well done Ruth” May the angels take you into paradise .Rest In peace.

What a great neighbor Ruth was! She’d always take in stray cats: Charlie was one I remember who would pay a visit in our garage quite often. She was also a lot of fun to bowl with, 9 9 9… we provided some transportation for her thru the years most often When she was doing what she did best, a caretaker for her sister in the Houston Nursing Home. She enjoyed her times going out with the girls for Fri nite suppers as we would see her at Little Miami & The Redwood. What a super lady retiring as an RN in NY & moved back her to retire. What a blessing it was to be her neighbor & get to know her. RIP Ruth. You deserve it!!
