Obituary for Michealene M. Reedy


Michealene Mary Reedy, 93, of La Crosse and formerly of Arcadia, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Bethany St. Joseph Home in LaCrosse. Michealene was born August 24, 1927 in Independence, WI to Francis and Mary (Przybilla) Wozney. She graduated from Independence High School. She married Bruce B. Reedy on November 23, 1946 at St. Peter & Paul Church in Independence, WI. She then earned her License Practical Nursing Degree and worked at the Arcadia Nursing Home. She also earned a Wisconsin Real Estate License. Michealene was a loving mother to 12 children, 26 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her incredible love and devotion to her family as well as her tremendously sharp mind, wit and love for learning. She was a talented homemaker and seamstress. Michealene is survived by 5 sons: James (Marilyn) Reedy, Galesville, WI; Bruce W. (Sheryl) Reedy, Galesville, WI; Gary (Penny) Reedy, LaCrosse, WI; Craig Reedy, Galesville, Wi; Gordon (Tammie) Reedy, Trempealeau, WI; 6 daughters: Karen (Rodney) Patzner, Whitefish Bay, WI; Kristine Bartholomew, Shawano, WI; Jane (Steve) Messick, Hastings, MN; Lisa (Christopher) Jones, Amarillo, TX; Mary (Todd) Erickson, Woodbury, MN; Margo Prom, LaCrosse, WI; sisters: Dolores Higie and Kathleen Ford; brother: James Wozney; 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents; Francis and Mary Wozney; husband: Bruce B. Reedy; son: Gaylord Reedy; daughter-in-law: Mary; brother:Jerry Wozney; sisters: JoAnn Ford and infant Anne Wozney; 3 granddaughters; 1 grandson and 1 great granddaughter. Due to Covid-19 concerns a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Parish, Onalaska. Monsignor Steven Kachel will be the celebrant. Entombment will be at the Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum, LaCrosse. A Celebration of Life in her honor will be held at a later date. Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Homes and Crematory, Jostad Chapel, West Salem, is assisting the family in their time of need.
