Obituary for Ronald V. Paulus


Ronald V. Paulus, 79, of Bangor, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. Ron was born in Bangor on July 28, 1942, to Vincent and Marian (Garbers) Paulus. He graduated from Bangor High School in 1960. He enlisted in the Navy August 1961 and served until August of 1965. Ron married the love of his life, Louise Stalsberg on November 14, 1970. Ron was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He worked for Fowler and Hammer and Mueller Masonry before becoming the owner and operator of Modern Striping for 25 years. Ron was a volunteer fireman for 32 years with the Bangor Burns Fire Department. He was also an member of the American Legion Post 40 for 50 years. Ron was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved watching the Green Bay Packers, Brewers and Badgers. He also loved bowling, golfing, and going to Florida in the winter after retiring. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Louise; their two children, Todd Paulus of Holmen and Tina (Steve Morris) Wuensch of Park Falls; four grandchildren, Damian and Alexis Paulus and Tyler and Payton Wuensch; one brother, Eugene (Barb) Paulus of Missouri; sister-in-law, Sharon (Dave Daoust)Stalsberg of Onalaska and Linda Matheny of La Crosse; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Bangor. Rev. Brock Groth will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery with military honors to be rendered by the Anderson-Good American Legion Post 40 of Bangor and the United States Navy Funeral Honor Guard. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m., until 7:00 p.m., Monday, at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, Hwy 162 and Hattan St., Bangor, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, Tuesday, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and may be directed to St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Bangor. The family would like to give a special thanks to Gundersen Health Systems and the doctors and nurses on 6th floor for all their special care and support.
