She was born on October 18, 1948, to Edward and Delores “Dolly” (Tumey) Kochanski. She grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Custer High School in 1966. One of her favorite pastimes was being on her speedboat, the “Lady K.” On August 30, 1969, Kris married the love of her life, Alfred “Al” Vento. They enjoyed 49 years of marriage and raised three children. She worked as a bakery manager at Pick ‘n Save in Germantown, WI, for several years before moving to De Soto, WI, where she worked as a cook at the Great River Roadhouse for 18 years before retiring in 2015. Kris had many hobbies that she loved, including playing cards and Mahjong with her close friends, bargain shopping, and feeding the birds. She enjoyed taking care of her cats and she will be missed by two beloved pets. Kris enjoyed flowers, especially moss roses, and had several beautiful house plants. She was also an avid Packer fan and if they were playing it was a guarantee she would be passionately watching. Of all the things she loved, she loved being a mom and a grandma the most. She will be greatly missed by her children, Gina (Tom Welke) Vento, Christopher Vento, Daniel (Lorna) Vento; her four grandchildren, Monica Crowley, Trinity Vento, Angelo Vento, and Cecilia Vento; her brother, Paul (Donna) Kochanski; two sisters-in-law, Cyndy Kochanski, Rose (Dale) White; her nieces and nephews, and many friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, August 5, 2022, at 12 noon at St. Charles Catholic Church in Genoa, WI. Entombment will be in the columbarium at the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m., until the time of Mass at the church.
