Obituary for Marilyn R. Boland

Marilyn Rae Boland, 88, of La Crosse, passed away on January 10, 2023.

She was born December 18, 1934 in Sparta to Connie and Ellen (Finnanger) Brotherson. Shortly after, her family moved to the North side of La Crosse where she spent her life. She graduated from Logan High School, where she played the violin and was a cheerleader. During this time, she met Myron Boland, a football star at Central High school. Myron served in the Marines during the Korean War and after his return they married in 1953. They were married for 53 years before Myron passed away in 2006.

For over 28 years, Marilyn was the proud proprietor of the concession stand in Myric Park, where she worked alongside her husband as he operated the children’s rides. Managing the concession stand was her pride and joy. She met many people during this job, and everyone around knew her as the Lady who runs the concession stand at Myric. Mariyln also was an avid reader and loved to do crossword puzzles in her free time. She will be deeply missed by all.

Marilyn was survived by her son, Thomas Boland; daughter, Rebecca (John) Berzinski; grandchildren, April Berzinski, John (Carmen) Berzinski, Jana Windbiel, Tammy Korish, Ron (Tracy) Boland; great-grandchildren, Angelique Zieske, Allicia Zieske, Alyvia Zieske, Devin (Anita) Chestnut, Cody Korish, Kayla Corish, Kessler Korish, Aiden Boland, Delilah Boland, James Boland; great-grandchild, Jessie Chestnut; special friends, Sally Olson, Kelly McCormick; and other relatives and friends.
