Obituary for Samuel "Sam" Drake

Samuel "Sam" C. Drake, 64, of Bangor Wisconsin, died Friday evening, May 12, 2023 in his home surrounded by close friends and family.

Sam graduated from high school in Sparta, Wisconsin and then joined the United States Army. He served 4 years in active duty and then 7 years in the National Guard. He would then make his career in the trucking industry. Sam loved the constant changing scenery during his many years as a professional truck driver and owner/operator.

When Sam wasn't out on the road, he enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing, camping, and socializing with friends and taking care of the "old people" in his family. Sam lived a fast paced life (In a hurry-don't know why) but would never pass up a chance to kick back at home for a day of relaxing and complete control of the TV remote to watch NFL football, or UFC fights.

Survivors include his wife, Julie Drake; daughter, Keelee Drake; brother, Larry Drake; step-son, Jordan McCants (Natalie Rooney); and 2 Granddaughters, Paisley and Maggie McCants.

Military honors will be rendered at 4:00 P.M., Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Bangor Village Park by the Anderson-Good American Legion Post #40 of Bangor and United States Army Funeral Honor Guard.

Following military honors, there will be a celebration of life at 5:00 P.M. at Augie's Bar and Grill, 1614 Commercial Street, Bangor, Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
