Obituary for Janet M. (Wehrle) Beffa


Janet Mae (Wehrle) Beffa, 71, of La Crosse, left this life to join the love of her life, James “Jim” C. Beffa, on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at Bluffview Memory Care Center, Holmen, Wisconsin.

She was born August 29, 1951, in Boscobel, Wis., to Wilbur and Opal (Drake) Wehrle. Janet married Jim on August 9, 1974, in St. Mary’s Church, Fennimore, Wisconsin. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, friend, and adoring grandmother. Janet loved her family and worked for Trane/American Standard for 26 years before retiring. After retiring, her focus was spending time with her grandchildren, especially her Charlie Brown, Joyce.

She is survived by two daughters, Brandy (Samuel) Thomas and Misty Beffa, both of La Crosse; a step-daughter, Sarah Beffa of La Crosse; five grandchildren, Steven, Janet, and Joyce Cleveland, and Rhianna and Elena Jacuinde, all of La Crosse; two brothers, Rodney (Jackie) Wehrle of Fennimore, Wis, and Rick (Bonnie) Wehrle of Beloit, Wis; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Karen Wehrle; a brother, Gary (Kathleen) Wehrle; sisters-in-law, Rita (Daniel) Hanson; and Beffa Wyldemoon.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Fredrickson Funeral Home, 4239 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse. Majors Brian and Lee Ann Burkett will officiate. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m., until the time of service, Monday, at the funeral home.
