Obituary for Terri Jean Peterson


Terri Jean Peterson, 48, of Houston, Minn., passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. She was surrounded by her loving family and boyfriend, Brandon Erdman.

Terri was born, February 4, 1975, at the Winona Hospital, Winona, Minn., to Karyn Olson and the late David Peterson. She lived in the Houston and Caledonia areas her entire life. She was a 1993 graduate of Houston High School. After graduation, she worked various jobs including, TRW in Rushford, the Houston Liquor Store, Miken Sports in Caledonia, and Flex Craft in Houston.

Terri worked hard and lived for the weekends. She was well known in and around the surrounding area. Terri had a contagious smile that welcomed anyone she met. She enjoyed being around people and loved following local bands if she could. Terri attended many concerts and kept every ticket stub.

Terri especially enjoyed riding motorcycles; Harley Davidson being her favorite. She treasured the rides she took with her many friends.

Survivors include her parents, Karyn and Leonard Olson of Houston; boyfriend, Brandon Erdman of Houston; sisters, Jan Anderson of Georgia, Robin (Curt) Paulson of Rushford, and Michelle (Bryce) Bauman of Owatonna; brothers, Michael (Kim) Kurtz of Caledonia and Dean (Kelly) Peterson of Virginia; nieces, Cheyenne Jacobson, Dawn Decker, Desiree Kurtz, Shauna Kurtz, and Taylor Littlefield; nephews, Shane Jacobson, Curt Paulson, and Kenneth Kurtz; great-niece, Kylee; great-nephews, Cooper and Walker; and her best friend of 28 years, Molly (Randy) Hauser of Wyoming.

Terri was preceded in death by her father, David; cousins, Warren Peterson and James Peterson; and future brother-in-law, Scott Banister (who would have married her sister, Jan).

A celebration of life will be held from 11:00 a.m., to 3:00 p.m., Saturday September 2, 2023, at Goodtimes Restaurant and Bar in the lower level. A private burial will take place at a later date in the Yucatan Cemetery.
