Obituary for Lynn E. Umberger
Lynn served in the US Army and was honorably discharged on December 1, 1974. After serving his country, he worked at the G-Heileman Brewery Company for 42 years, retiring in 2009.
Lynn lived on the Umberger home farm in Spring Coulee along with his wife and two children, Jeff and Kristi. He was so proud of them and their accomplishments. He enjoyed riding his Gator and taking his grandchildren along, teaching them about all of the animals and nature. Lynn enjoyed watching the Brewers and the news. He loved Culver's and was a frequent visitor to the Stoddard Kwik Trip, where he always stocked up on sugary sweets and Mountain Dew for his grandchildren. He enjoyed driving the ridge with his riding partner, Aspen (although he would never admit to liking her.) Most of all, Lynn loved attending the special events of his grandchildren, his pride and joy.
Lynn is survived by his wife, Carolyn; children, Jeff (Stephanie) Umberger and Kristi (Paul) Berendes; and his precious grandchildren, Sloan, Ames, Kip, Elliot, Arya, and Isla; siblings, Patricia (Jerry) Hagan, Jim (Melinda) Umberger, Wayne (Ellen) Umberger, Rich (Bev) Umberger, Mark (Deb) Umberger, Jean (Jim) Urbanek, and Janet (Ross) Romanzak.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Laurene Umberger.
A visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024 at Fredrickson Funeral Home, Woodruff Chapel, 4239 Mormon Coulee Road, La Crosse, WI, 54601 and conclude with a brief prayer service at 11:00 a.m. Rev.
