To live in the hearts and minds of those we leave behind

Let us help get you started

Condolences for

Gloria was my sister, Jan & my double 1st cousin (our Moms being sisters and our Dads being brothers) which made us feel closer than cousins and more like sisters. It was our honor to be present and part of the service. She is and will continue to be missed by us and many others. My very best to Dick and the girls as well as all who miss her.

So very sorry to hear of Gloria's passing. She was an awesome grandmother to my two nephews and they loved all the time they spent with her (trips, visits, and just hanging out). Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless.

Dick, Kim, & entire Faivre family: We would like to extend our deepest sympathy for the loss of your loved one. Gloria was always a pleasure to work with and will be greatly missed. She has helped our family with a smile for decades. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers!

Gloria was an aunt but I always thought of her as a cousin. We did not live in Janesville, but when we visited there, I remember some good times playing together. Later in life, we enjoyed getting together at Nelson family reunions also. We will be praying for all of you on Thursday and the days following.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Gloria was such an advocate of all that is good. As a child, I knew her husband as Doc. Faivre. I would be a young parent myself, when I would first meet Gloria. I was asked to come to Reading is Fundamental (RIF) meeting, to tell about the Future Problem Solving Program (FPSP.) At that time, I was an evaluator for the Wisconsin program, a stay at home mom of a seven, four, and one year old. The day after the meeting I received a phone call from Gloria, asking me if she set up a meeting with the Elementary Principal, Mary Adams, would I come and tell her about the FPSP. Gloria had me visiting with Mrs. Adams the very next day. Within the week, she and Mary had me presenting to the my "old" teachers, Mr. Terry Mullins and Mr. Grippen. Added to that team was Mr. Dahlen and Mrs. Markegaard. After presenting, Mr. Mullins asked when I could start COACHING FPS. Coaching? Me? I was an evaluator not a coach! One week later I met with my very first 5th and 6th grade teams. This was November of 1986. A little over 25 years ago. This was when I began learning the meaning of, "When you teach, you learn twice." Along with Gloria and Doc Faivre's daughters Nancy and Jane, I began to REALLY learn the FPS process; critical and creative thinking skills that still continue to serve me and so many former students of mine. Today, I'm the State Director of the FPSP. Gloria, thank you for seeing potential that I could never have imagined. Your phone call following a simple meeting lead to 19 years of FPS for the Caledonia Public Schools as I coached 97 FPS teams, 582 students, 18 trips to state and three trips to International Competition. Most important of all, Gloria's persistence made it possible for so many students to be challenged to learn the higher level thinking skills, to become creative problem solvers, and critical thinkers. Many of these students still keep in touch today. Eight of these FPS Alumni continue to be engaged in the MN program today. (Who knows how many are involved in different states or countries.) Adam Schoh and Kalyn Cody, CHS grads, now co-direct the evaluation component. Leigh Campbell, CHS graduate, is the board president. If I never took the time to tell you before, that is to my regret, but I want to be sure that your family knows how many people you impacted - well beyond your direct reach - because of your passion for challenging students. Thank you! I just wonder what mission you are on now!

I knew Gloria years ago when we worked together in Lutheran Church women. I loved her kindness, her faith and generosity. I hadn't seen her for years and then saw her last year. She was way too young and I was happy to connect with her again. God's peace and love sustain you in the weeks ahead.

Dear Faivre Family, In the 1980s I first met your Mom. She would bring Jane to our home to attend "The Music Room". I reconnected with her just last year at The Pump House on some Sundays. She told me so much about you, Jane. Please accept my deepest sympathy in your loss. May your pain gradually turn into gratitude for her presence. Much love, Carmen De Yoe

My sincerest sympathy to all of you. Gloria & I grew up together in Janesville. We became friends around the age of 5 in Sunday School at First Lutheran Church. I have many good memories of staying overnight at Gloria's house while we were in Confirmation. We graduated together in 1963 & life took us each on a different course. I was saddened to learn in your Christmas card this year of her serious health situation. Gloria's smile, genuine thoughtfulness, ability to dream & sense of humor will be how I remember her. I was blessed to have known her. Sincerely, Audrey (Kettleson) Kvistad

I loved seeing Gloria at our family reunions! I truly wish we could have spent more time together! However I know we will have a GRAND reunion in Heaven one day!! "But you dear friends, build yourselves up in most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you eternal life." Jude 20&21 I am so glad her love still shines through her family and friends!

Dear Dick and Family, Susie Neumeyer called and told me about Gloria, what a shock. I remember fondly my trip of a lifetime to Norway with Gloria, Helen, Susie and Marcie. What fun we had. Your wife and mother was a kind and gracious woman, full of life and a lover of adventure. Life isn't easy and it hurts to lose those we love. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Donna

I was a high school classmate of Gloria's. I first met Dick at a High School Class Reunion. We always enjoyed hearing from the Faivre's at Christmas time. May God Bless Gloria's family and help them through this time of loss.

Dear family of Gloria Faivre: It is with deep sadness that I read of Gloria's death. She was a true spiritual seeker. I appreciated her presence and support of the Franciscan Spirituality Center, of which I was the former director. She had a very caring heart. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers as you grieve her loss. I thank God for her presence in my life.

Dear Family, I loved Gloria. I met her several years ago when she was a student in my "Psych of Women" class. She was such a fierce protector of good choices for women and so clearly loved her own children. She was a good soul, a friend and I will miss her.

I was so sad to hear about the death of Gloria. She was my high school english teacher. For many years I helped with the annual pet vaccinations in New Albin and Gloria would call them our "family reunion". I know she was an awesome wife and Mom and a very proud Grandmother. My sympathy to all of her fmaily. Shirley Richards, New Albin, Iowa

I had the great pleasure of working with Gloria at RSVP. I will always remember her kindness, her generosity and her passion for giving. I still have a toy spider she gave me for the birth of my son Hans in 2003. I always think of her when I see it. I'm so sorry for your loss.
