Originally from Darlington, Wis., Rande joined the United States Army after his 18th birthday, where he served in the 82D Airborne Division. During his time of service, Rande received multiple achievement awards including The Good Conduct Medal and The Army Achievement Metal before being honorably discharged in January of 1990. Ray; and last but not least, his best friend and cat, Rupert Ray. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Ray on Feb. 16, 2016, in Darlington, Wis.
