Obituary for Alec Riley Beron

Alec Riley Beron passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 4th, 2018. He was 24 years young. Alec was born on October 6, 1993 to Kevin and Lori Beron in La Crosse. He grew up in Onalaska, Wi and graduated from Onalaska High School in 2012. Alec's greatest passion in life was music and drumming. He was an accomplished drummer, following in his older brother's shoes. He started 'banging the skins' at the age of six. Alex was in the percussion section of the OHS band for four years and participated in marching band, jazz band, show choir band and pit band for summer musicals. During the last couple of years of high school he was in a band called 'In The Mood' with three very good 'Brothers.' After high school he continued drumming with the OMS show band as well as with friends at local venues. He enjoyed yearly overnight canoe trips on the Wisconsin River with his dad, uncle, brothers, cousins and friends. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and participated in the Sunfish Days Parade when he caught the biggest sunfish at the age of two. He spent many hours playing games and cooking with his mom and brothers. Alec attended father/son camp in northern Minnesota where he could ride horse, canoe, fish, wood work and do other 'guy' stuff. He worked at Subway in Holmen for about 4 years as a sandwich artist and spoke very highly of his Subway family. He is survived by his mother, Lori, (friend Dan), father Kevin, (Heidi), brothers Kyle (Pam), Jacob, and God Daughter, Grace. Step brothers: Brandon Stemper and Colton Carpenter and step sister, Cheyanne Carpenter. Grandmother, Leona Hesselberg. Aunts and uncles: Theresa Hesselberg, Judy (Paul) Prell, Mike (Sandy) Hesselberg, Dale (Johna) Hesselberg, Rick Beron (friend Judy Koopman), Tim (Kathy) Beron, Terry (Lisa) Beron, and Jenny (James) Lockman. Cousins: Andy (Danielle) Prell, and Kelsey (Brian) Semann, Cousins: Angela (Avery) Risch, Paul Beron (friend Kayla), Jenna Beron (fiance Stephen), Eric Beron, Mathew Beron and Josh Beron, Kaylee and Madison Herman, Ben, Nathan, Josh Lockman. John Duller, Josh, Johnea, and DJ Hesselberg (fiance Bryan), Haley Hesselberg and Joe Hesselberg. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Alton Hesselberg and James and Charlene Beron, and his Uncle Scott Herman. He will be sadly missed by his entire family and friends. Those we love do not go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., on Friday, May 11, 2018, at the Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, Bangor Chapel, Hwy. 162 and Hattan St. Burial will be held at a later date and will be private. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Online condolences may be sent at
