Obituary for Loretta M. Servais


Loretta M. Servais, 86, of St. Joseph Ridge/West Salem passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems of La Crosse. Loretta was the sixth of 11 children. She went to grade school on Middle Ridge and graduated from Bangor High School. She was in the hall of fame at Schmidtys for waitressing for over 30 years. She enjoyed bowling in her spare time and once was in the paper for bowling a 606. Also famous for her Special K bars, French toast, loaded pizza, fried eggs, and Better than Heaven cake. Thank you to the wonderful employees at the Hearten House and Mayo Clinic Health Systems for caring for Loretta over the last few years. Especially for the care over the last 17 days, when so many were able to say their goodbyes to Loretta. She is survived by her five children, Pamela (Jeff) Kurisch, Jane Servais, Paula (Nick) Kneifl, Thomas (Shelly) Servais, and Paul (Arlene) Servais, 11 grandchildren, Katie Kurisch, Anne (Nick) Young, Mary (Jared) Ridge, Nicole (Michael) Werner, Jason Kneifl, Shanna (Mike) Roe, Michael (Jessica) Servais, Jacob Servais, Jolene Servais, Jerome Servais, Molly Servais, 7 great-grandchildren, Loretta Young, Cecilia Young, Julia Young, Marina Werner, Elsa Werner, Paxton Roe, and Carlin Servais. Also survived by sister, Nancy Kaiser; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn Marx, Donnie and Marie Servais, Pat Stuber, Denny Servais, Theresa Servais, Eunice Kaiser; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by husband of 59 years Jerome Servais; parents, Joseph and Marie Kaiser; mother and father-in-law Roy and Marie Servais; siblings, Bernice (John) Mashak, Cletus (Lillian) Kaiser, Harriet (Charlie) Nicol, Rosie (LaVerne) Schaller, Richard (Carole) Kaiser, Mary Ann (Val) Hilby, Jerry Kaiser, Alice (Robert) Silha and infant brother Joseph. Jerome’s siblings and in-laws, Nancy Servais, Gary Servais, and Gene Marx. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 16, 2019, 11:00 am at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, West Salem. Father Kennedy will be the celebrant. Burial will be held in St Joseph Catholic Cemetery at St Joseph Ridge. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of the mass at the church. Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral home-Jostad Chapel, West Salem will be helping the family in time of need.
