Obituary for Andrea S. Page

Andrea Susan Page, 72, of West Salem, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 25, 2020. She was born on January 29, 1948, at Stanley Memorial Hospital to Andrew and Louise (Larson) Page of Thorp WI. Andrea graduated from Eau Claire North High School in Eau Claire WI, in 1966. She was married to David Krigsvold and from that union their son, Corey, was born. They later divorced. On July 2, 1980, she married Gerald Van Oss and “never knew life could be so good!” Andrea held many jobs, but primarily worked for Roma Frozen Pizza in Eau Claire, Webster Lumber Co. in Bangor and Sprint in West Salem. Andrea took her volunteering to heart. She was an active member of Berg-Hemker-Olson American Legion Family Post 51 of West Salem. Andrea served as the Department of Wisconsin President of the American Legion Auxiliary in 2004-2005. She has made many, many friends along her travels throughout the state. Her passion for this organization, its programs, and the veterans it serves were endless. She served as a Badger Girls State counselor for over twenty years. Andrea served her community as a former West Salem First Responder for 12 years and held the office of president and board member. Andrea was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of West Salem. She served as the June Dairy Days representative for the American Legion Auxiliary for many years and she will forever be remembered as the “Chicken Lady” with her chicken hat and hollering for “CHICKEN!” as her voice carried throughout the park. She is survived by her stepson, Jeffrey Van Oss of Oak Creek WI, and stepdaughter, Jennifer Van Oss (Steve Gilles) of Minneapolis MN, and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Krigsvold (Fauver) of Conyers GA. She is further survived by her precious grandchildren, Samual Krigsvold (“Love you forever, wherever you may be!”), Trinity and Ava Van Oss and Greyson Gilles; her sister Julie Page of Minneapolis MN, and her brother, Bruce Page (Mary) of Chippewa Falls WI. “I must include all my amazing friends from my American Legion Family. They have watched over me after my family went away. Blessings to all of you. You will never know the amazing difference you have made in my life. Please note those special people that kept me going – Pat Smith, Virginia Kodl, Diane Weggen, Sheri & Steve Craig & my surrogate grandchildren (Scott and Sierra Craig) great grandson (Daniel), Mary Folstad, Jim Jenks, Roy Warthin and the Schallers (all of them!) Also, my wonderful friends I have made at Salem Terrace in the past few years. You made me look at my life in a different way. God bless you all! If I missed anyone, I apologize. Sometimes my mind wanders where it shouldn’t be!” Andrea was preceded in death by her husband, Gerry, on May 18, 2014 (Best Friend EVER!); her son, Corey, on December 7, 2011, her parents, and her siblings Diane Page of Minneapolis MN, Keith Page of Eau Claire WI, and Larry Page of Janesville WI. Andrea laughed because it was easier than crying and forced others to join in the fun. She loved deeply and without judgement. She lived because God gave her another day to spread joy and sunshine. She will be a part of us forever. God speed. Andrea requested a memorial service to be held at the American Legion Post 51 in West Salem, Wisconsin. Details will follow at a later date because of our current normal. Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home of West Salem is assisting the family. Online condolences may be offered at the funeral home website,
