Obituary for Lou Ann Hanson

Lou Ann Hanson, 81, of Bangor, passed away April 20, 2024, at Morrow Home Community in Sparta.

She was born April 17, 1943, in La Crosse County, to John and Elaine (Erickson) Stintzi and was a 1961 graduate of Bangor High School. One night, while watching a band at Johnny's Pool Hall in Bangor, she met the gaze of one of the members of the band; his name was Ron Hanson and the rest, as they say, is history. The two were married November 30, 1963, at First Presbyterian Church in Bangor. They truly loved one another and were the absolute loves of each other's lives.

Lou Ann will be remembered for her caring heart. She was a caregiver, volunteer, member of the Bangor First Responders, and meals on wheels delivery person. She and Ron were active members of North Presbyterian Church in La Crosse and Lou Ann often accompanied Pastor Scott Skogen when he delivered communion.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Ron; three siblings, Jeanette Schaller, Roy (Maureen) Stintzi, and Mary McHenry (Kevin); and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Lou Ann was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John “Jack” (Shirley) Stintzi and George Stintzi; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clinton and Margaret Jane (Christianson) Hanson.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Fredrickson Funeral Homes and Crematory, Bangor Chapel, Hwy 162 and Hattan St., Bangor. Pastor Scott Skogen will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to North Presbyterian Church in La Crosse or the Bangor First Responders.
